This policy explains what the Jyotish — AI Astrologer Android app
(com.gemini.chat) does with information when you use it. Please read it before using
the app. By using the app you agree to what is described here. If you do not agree, please do not
use the app.
The short version. Your charts, saved people and conversations are stored on your phone only — there is no account and no server of ours holding them. To produce a reading, your birth details are sent to the astrology and AI services listed in section 4. The app shows ads and offers a paid subscription, and it collects anonymous usage statistics that never include names or birth details.

There is no company behind this app, no staff and no internal data team. Emails are answered by one person, so please allow a few days for a reply.

The Compatibility & Comparison section lets you save two or three people and read their charts together. If you enter someone else's birth details, you are asking us to process that person's information on your instruction. Please only do this for people who are happy for you to. Their details are treated exactly like your own — kept on your phone, and sent to the services in section 4 when a reading is generated.
From your birth details the app derives planetary positions, ascendant, divisional charts (Navamsa, Dasamsa, Saptamsa, Dwadasamsa), planetary strength (Shadbala) and Ashtakavarga bindus, active yogas, Vimshottari Dasha timelines, and — where you ask for them — a Western tropical chart, a Chinese BaZi (Four Pillars) reading and numerology values. Your city of birth is converted into latitude and longitude to do this (see section 4).
There is no sign-up, no account, and no password. The app never asks for your phone number, email address, contacts, camera, microphone, precise GPS location, photos or files. It never asks for or receives your card or bank details — payments are handled entirely by Google Play (see section 6).
Because the app shows ads and measures its own usage, the following are involved:
Charts, saved people, compatibility and group readings, chat transcripts and the cached results of each astrology system are written to the app's private internal storage on your device. No other app can read them, and they are not uploaded anywhere by us. This is what lets you reopen a reading later without spending another lookup.
Your free-usage counter and, if you buy one, your subscription status are also stored locally.
Data stays until you remove it. Deleting a chart in the app deletes that person's chart, their cached system data, and every compatibility or group reading involving them. Uninstalling the app removes everything. If you have Android's automatic backup enabled, some app data may also be copied to your own Google Drive under Google's terms, not ours.
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only to produce the thing you asked for, with these providers:

These providers process the data on their own servers and return a result. We do not control what they do with it beyond that, so please see their policies:
Please note. Your birth details and chat messages are sent to AI language model providers to produce a reading. Avoid typing anything into the chat that you would not want a third-party AI provider to process — medical history, financial details, or other people's private information.
A full-screen ad appears when you start a reading, and an optional rewarded ad can be watched to extend free chat time. Ads come from Google AdMob and may be personalised based on your advertising ID. Subscribers see no ads at all.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, the app shows Google's consent form the first time it runs and follows your choice; you can change it later from that form. Elsewhere you can limit personalisation with Android's own Opt out of Ads Personalisation setting.
The app records anonymous statistics so the developer can tell which features are worth improving. What is recorded is counts and categories — for example that a reading was opened, that it covered two or three people, which sage was chosen, that someone reached the free usage limit, or that a subscription was bought.
No names, birth dates, birth times, cities, coordinates, chart data or chat messages are ever included, and compatibility scores are recorded only as a broad band rather than an exact number. This restriction is enforced in the app's code, not merely intended.
When the app crashes, a report is sent to Firebase Crashlytics so the fault can be found and fixed. A report contains the stack trace — the list of code locations the app was in when it failed — along with your device model, Android version, and an identifier Crashlytics generates for this installation. That identifier is not your name, email or advertising ID, and it is reset if you reinstall the app.
This is a weaker promise than the one made about analytics above, and it is worth stating plainly rather than glossing over. Analytics events are written by hand and can be guaranteed to contain nothing personal. A crash report is produced by the system at the moment of failure, and text can in principle reach it inside an error message — a filename, for instance, or part of a failed network request. Three things limit that:
Crash reports are held by Google under Firebase's privacy terms and are deleted on their retention schedule (90 days at the time of writing).
Jyotish is free to use with a limit on how many messages you can send in a three-hour period. An optional subscription removes that limit and removes ads. Plans are ₹130 for one month, ₹300 for three months and ₹800 for one year.
Purchases inside the Google Play version are processed by Google Play Billing. Google handles the payment, the receipt, renewals, cancellations and refunds; the app is only told whether a subscription is currently active. Manage or cancel a subscription in the Play Store under Payments & subscriptions. Where the app is distributed outside Google Play, Razorpay is used instead, and the same applies — the app never receives card or bank details.
Because your information lives on your own device, you are in direct control of most of it:
Depending on where you live you may also have rights under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, the EU/UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act, or similar laws — including access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and the right to complain to a supervisory authority. Because we hold no server-side copy of your data, most requests are satisfied by deleting it in the app; for anything else, or to ask about data already sent to a provider in section 4, write to ramanghorpade2069@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. You may also contact those providers directly using the links above.
Jyotish is not directed to children. It is intended for users aged 13 and over, and in India for users aged 18 and over unless a parent or guardian consents, as required by the DPDP Act. We do not knowingly collect information from a child. If you believe a child has entered information into the app, please contact us and we will help you remove it.
Data on your device is kept in the app's private storage, which Android isolates from other apps. All network requests use encrypted HTTPS connections, and cleartext traffic is disabled in the app. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
The services in section 4 operate servers in various countries, including outside India and outside the EEA. Information sent to them may therefore be processed in a country with different data protection laws from your own.
This policy may be updated when the app changes or the law requires it. The "last updated" date at the top will change, and the current version will always be at this address. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.

It does not give medical, legal or financial advice, does not diagnose anything, and does not make guaranteed predictions about health, death or other serious matters.
