Privacy Policy
The short version
OmniNode has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no servers of our own. We do not sell your data. Your chat history is never written to disk — it exists only in memory and disappears when the app closes.
But one thing matters more than all of that: OmniNode is not an on-device AI. To answer you, it sends your messages — and the results of any tool it runs on your phone — over the internet to third-party AI providers. If you ask it to text your mother, her name and phone number are part of what gets sent. Read section 2 before you use the app.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy describes how the OmniNode Android application handles information. OmniNode is an independent app developed and distributed by an individual developer (“we”, “us”). It applies only to the OmniNode app, not to any other app, website, or service you may reach from it.
We operate no backend server. There is no OmniNode account, no sign-up, no login, and no profile. We never receive a copy of your data ourselves.
2. How OmniNode works, and what this means for your privacy
OmniNode is an AI assistant that can act on your phone. It works in a loop:
- You type a request.
- Your request, together with the earlier messages in the current conversation, is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection to a third-party AI provider (see section 4).
- The AI may reply by asking OmniNode to run a tool on your device — look up a contact, list files, read device status, send an SMS, place a call, create a document, run a sandboxed shell command.
- The result of that tool is sent back to the AI provider so it can decide what to do next or how to answer you.
The consequence you need to understand: any personal information a tool reads in order to complete your request becomes part of the conversation transmitted to the AI provider. That can include contact names and phone numbers, file and folder names, the text of a message you asked OmniNode to send, device details such as model, battery and storage, and the output of shell commands.
Only what a tool actually returns while carrying out your request is sent. OmniNode does not scan, index, bulk-upload, or continuously monitor your contacts, messages, files, or device in the background.
3. What OmniNode accesses on your device
Each item below is used only when a request needs it, and only if you have enabled that tool and granted the matching Android permission (see section 7).
| What | Why OmniNode uses it | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Your typed messages | They are the request the AI has to answer | Sent to the AI provider |
| Contacts (names, phone numbers) | To resolve “call Mum” into a real number instead of guessing one | The matched contact is sent to the AI provider |
| SMS drafting | To compose a message you asked for. OmniNode does not read your inbox or message history, and cannot send a message on its own | Message text passes through the AI provider; the draft then opens in your own messaging app for you to send |
| Phone calls | To dial a number you asked to call | The number is sent to the AI provider; the call is placed by Android |
| Files and media | To list or find files you asked about | File names, paths and any content you asked to be used are sent to the AI provider |
| Device information | Model, Android version, battery, storage, network state, when you ask about them | Sent to the AI provider |
| Installed app list | To launch an app you named | App/package names relevant to your request are sent to the AI provider |
| Alarms and calendar events | To create an alarm or event you asked for | Handed to your existing clock/calendar app on the device |
| Notifications | To show a notification you asked OmniNode to post | Stays on the device |
| Device controls | Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, flashlight, volume, brightness toggles you requested | Stays on the device |
| Documents you save | PDF or text files OmniNode creates on request | Written to your Downloads folder on the device |
4. Third-party AI providers
OmniNode presents a single assistant called Omni. Behind that name, requests are routed to whichever of the following providers is available, and a request may fail over from one to the next:
- OpenRouter (United States) — privacy policy
- Groq (United States) — privacy policy
- Google (Gemini API) — privacy policy
- Zhipu AI / BigModel (China) — bigmodel.cn
These providers process your conversation in order to generate a reply. What they do with it afterwards — how long they keep it, whether staff may review it, whether it may be used to improve their models — is governed by their policies, not ours. OmniNode cannot delete data once a provider has received it. Please read their policies if this matters to you.
OmniNode sends requests using credentials built into the app. It does not identify you to these providers by name, email, or account, and does not send a device identifier or advertising ID. Providers will, as with any internet request, see the IP address the request comes from.
5. What OmniNode does not do
- No sale or rental of personal information. Ever.
- No advertising, ad SDKs, or ad identifiers.
- No analytics, telemetry, usage tracking, or crash-reporting SDK.
- No account, sign-up, login, or user profile.
- No server operated by us that receives or stores your data.
- No background collection. OmniNode does nothing while you are not using it.
- No reading of your SMS inbox, call log, or notification history.
- No chat history saved to disk or synced anywhere.
6. What is stored on your device
OmniNode keeps almost nothing. Specifically:
- Tool permissions — which tools you enabled for AI access, stored in the app's private preferences so your choices survive a restart.
- Conversation — held in memory only. It is not written to storage, and it is gone when you clear the chat or the app is closed by the system.
- Documents — files OmniNode created at your request, in Downloads. They are yours; delete them like any other file.
Uninstalling OmniNode removes the app's preferences. Documents already saved to Downloads are not removed by uninstalling, because they are your files.
If you have Android backup enabled, your device may include the app's preference file in your Google backup. This is an Android platform feature and is covered by Google's privacy policy.
7. Permissions and your control
Nothing is enabled by default. Before the AI can use any capability on your phone, two separate gates must both be open:
- The Android permission — granted by you in the system dialog, and revocable at any time in Android Settings → Apps → OmniNode → Permissions.
- AI access for that tool — a separate switch inside OmniNode's own Settings screen. Granting Android a permission is not the same as consenting to an AI model using it, so OmniNode asks separately.
You can revoke either gate at any time. Every tool can be switched off individually, or all at once with Revoke all. A tool that is switched off refuses to run, even if the AI asks for it.
Actions that change something on your device are additionally held for confirmation and shown to you before they run.
8. Data retention
We retain nothing, because we receive nothing. On your device, conversations last only as long as the app is in memory, and tool preferences last until you change them or uninstall. Retention by the AI providers in section 4 is set by their own policies.
9. International data transfers
The AI providers in section 4 are located outside your country, including in the United States and China. Using OmniNode means your conversation content is transferred to and processed in those countries, which may have data-protection rules that differ from your own. If you are not comfortable with that, please do not use the app.
10. Children
OmniNode is not directed at children. It is intended for users aged 13 and over (16 where local law requires), and it is not designed or targeted for use by children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
11. Security
All communication with AI providers uses HTTPS. Tools run inside the standard Android application sandbox; OmniNode does not require or use root access, and cannot reach other apps' private data.
Please be aware of the honest limit here: because your request is processed by an external AI service, OmniNode cannot guarantee the confidentiality of anything you send once it leaves your device. Treat the assistant as you would any online service. Do not paste passwords, financial details, government identifiers, health records, or other sensitive information into the chat.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, or to object to its processing — for example under the EU/UK GDPR, India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, or the CCPA in California.
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing on our side to access, export, or erase; you can delete everything OmniNode stores by clearing the chat, revoking tool access, or uninstalling the app. For data already received by an AI provider, please contact that provider directly using the links in section 4.
13. Changes to this policy
If OmniNode's data practices change, this page will be updated and the “Last updated” date at the top revised. Material changes will be reflected here before or when the corresponding app version is released. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
